Interior Design Group

 

A small group of people representing Marple, Marple Bridge and Mellor  and Romiley U3A
groups meet in the leader’s home to study Interior Design.  Members learn first about
the difference between warm colours, cool colours and neutrals.  They collect and mount samples
of shades and tones to represent the huge selection of paints and wallpapers, carpets and soft
 furnishings available.  As the members grow in confidence they are encouraged to design rooms
and to co-ordinate colours and textures.  As the course progresses all the members agree
 that they now look more closely at the differences in tints and dyes, in fabrics and
floor coverings and feel they have the confidence to be more adventurous in decorating
and furnishing their homes
