Meeting for new members
On April 21st new members were invited to a
special meeting where they could meet
the committee and group leaders and learn
more about what was on offer at Marple U3A.
After a short introduction by the Chairman the meeting
started with a film about the
University of the Third Age in this country and
the impact it has made on the lives of
so many people.
After coffee and biscuits group leaders, one by one, spoke
about their group – what it
involved and whether there was space for new
members. With more than 30 groups
on
offer new members were amazed at the wide range of subjects available. There
was time for them to ask questions of
the group leaders and the Chairman then closed
the meeting by, first of all,
thanking the group leaders who, she said, were the ‘hub of
the U3A’ and then
wishing all new members a very happy association with Marple
and District U3A.
