We had our Open meeting, which was a great success
We had 92 members here, a full house more or less.
We have this each November and each group can play a part
It keeps our members informed of any new groups that we start.

The sun was shining brightly we looked forward to the meeting
Our stalwart Mr. Broomhead had been here to arrange the seating.
Our Chairman welcomed everyone, the bookstall did great trade
We gave our charity Mellor Home the money that we made.

We had an informative film Mr. Marshall did the honours
Then before we knew it, tea-time was upon us.
After the welcome cup of tea the entertainment then could start
Introduced by Chairman Mr. Mutch each group could act its part.

Mrs. Aldcroft read her poetry, Tonys Jazz Trio played so well
The Play Reading group were very well versed in the story they had to tell.
A very successful meeting enjoyed by all who were there
A typical U3A morning for everyone to share.
