U3A Holiday to Puglia, Italy, May 2011

    Another truly magnificent vacation has been enjoyed by 22 U3A members. We travelled by air to Bari in South 
    East Italy, via Rome, and spent the next 9 nights in two four star hotels in Conversano and Ostuni. Our holiday 
    company (whose principal met us at Bari and stayed for two days) arranged for us to see the sights in the Apulia area.
    We were treated to gourmet meals, mainly in country restaurants which specialised in local dishes. We were amazed
    at the quality and quantity of what was offered   to us. We had an excellent coach driver and although he knew very
    little English, he served our needs with quiet efficiency. Congratulations must be given to Hazel Jones for
    the excellent way she organised everything and it is a great pity to learn that
    this was the last trip to the continent that she will be in charge. Well done Hazel! Fred Ogden May 2011
