Scrabble Group Christmas Party

The Scrabble group held their Christmas party on Tuesday, December 8^th.  Members

were met with hot punch and chocolates and settled down for their first game, being

told to keep a running total of their scores.  In the interval mince pies and

 shortbread were served.  At the end of the afternoon the winners were announced. 

We knew that Gwenn had a good chance of winning as she had managed to place 

all her letters in one go (which warrants an extra 50 points) and, almost unprecedented, 

the word also covered a triple point square!  Her score for that one go was 81 points! 

Sure enough, she was the winner!  The other two winners were Beryl and Hazel.
