Our third session has continued to be interesting.  We have revisited some sites at different times and

have been to new ones.  An afternoon around Etherow was made special by a guided walk with Charles

Hamilton.  Two meetings had to be changed because of bad weather but, on one indoor meeting,

we were treated to an excellent talk by one member on the Fibonnaci series as found in nature.  Another

indoor meeting was spent in trying to identify Swiss flowers from a computer disc.

During this year we have been monitoring the plants flowering in the wildlife areas in Memorial Park,

Marple.  The results have been given to the park warden and we recorded a surprising number of species.

Next year we intend to have two meetings each month but over a shorter period.  This will enable us to see

more flowers in season and aslso cope with the long gaps caused by holidays.  We will now meet on the

first and third Wednesday afternoons at 2pm from April to September.

As before, people are welcome to come on the walks provided they are members of U3A and are interested

    in wild flowers.
